Thanks to everyone who worked many hard hours and days and gave of their energy, time and resources to our campaign. We truly are blessed to be surrounded by such a group of faithful friends and supporters!

I am so grateful for the unique opportunity I had to go door-to-door throughout our 47th District in Auburn, Black Diamond, Covington, Kent, Maple Valley and Renton, and meet my neighbors across the district. It was a encouraging experience to have met so many genuinely friendly people and it makes me grateful to live and work alongside each one of you as a fellow citizen.

Though It is disappointing to lose this race, we can take solace in the fact that we faced a strong headwind that really does not indicate the strength of the opponent so much as it does the national trends that were beyond our control. So, what's next? Please make today your starting place for where you will begin your personal journey to strengthen our resolve to rally around conservative principles that do not change.

Take courage in the fact we are in the greatest nation on earth and we have the privilege of making history, not just watching history being made. Starting today I urge each of you to seek how you can be involved in the process. Plan on becoming active in the 47th Republican District by attending the monthly meetings, paying your membership dues, supporting your PCO, writing letters to the editor to keep conservative principles in public discourse, etc. And please do everything you can to hold our elected officials to their campaign promises. Remind them whenever you can find an opportunity. These are the way to begin to bring about real change that will strengthen our state and country.
